Technical Program Manager, Commercial

📋 Description

• Take ownership of program planning and implementation for software product integration across various mission phases.

• Lead the comprehensive execution of the Spacetime engineering program and manage customer deliverables.

• Act as the primary programmatic liaison with customers.

• Interact with senior executives and technical stakeholders effectively.

• Conduct kickoffs, weekly reviews, and executive presentations.

• Ensure alignment among Product, Engineering, Design, and Solutions Engineering regarding status, risks, and decisions.

• Convert customer requirements into actionable engineering strategies.

• Assist technical teams in navigating changing scope and delivery expectations.

• Manage Time & Materials contract reporting obligations.

• Monitor and submit detailed monthly reports on labor, subcontracts, hardware, materials, and travel at the Master Equipment List level for invoicing.

• Proactively identify risks related to schedule, scope, and dependencies.

• Escalate risks with relevant context and collaborate with Engineering Leads to develop mitigation strategies.

• Oversee delivery across development, staging, and dedicated public or government cloud production environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or a related operations role focused on delivering complex technical platforms.

• Must be a US Citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

• Outstanding leadership and communication abilities.

• Proven capacity to influence without direct authority and engage confidently with high-level customer executives.

• Demonstrated familiarity with the software development lifecycle and contemporary software delivery practices, including APIs, CI/CD, and cloud deployments.

• Ability to comprehend and articulate engineering requirements effectively.

• Experience in managing intricate project financials, resource tracking, or stringent contractual reporting obligations.

• Background in software, hardware, or mission engineering, solutions architecture, or extensive experience working alongside engineering teams on technical programs.

• Preferred: strong expertise in satellite and mission operations, especially in early-orbit commissioning, fleet readiness, and high-consequence environments.

• Preferred: capability to design, construct, and implement structured operational workflows, task management systems, and anomaly resolution frameworks.

• Preferred: experience in supporting deployments in regulated, high-assurance, or government settings.

• Preferred: knowledge of networking, telecom, or SDN/traffic engineering concepts.

• Preferred: background and experience as an engineer or solutions architect.

• Must meet applicable ITAR/EAR requirements for access to export-controlled information.
