Technical Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Analyze and evaluate the architecture of a legacy Ruby monolith, React/Node.js microservices, mobile applications with offline synchronization, and IoT integrations, while assessing potential risks.

• Spearhead AI-assisted reverse engineering initiatives for legacy systems aimed at stabilization and the development of new products.

• Incorporate options that have a business impact into decision-making through technical explorations.

• Establish coding standards and platform guidelines.

• Set limits on work in progress, define queue policies, and categorize service classes for customer-reported issues.

• Guarantee reliable tracking of the initiation and completion of each work item.

• Monitor and publish DORA metrics, cycle time, and throughput.

• Systematically organize and uphold the backlog in alignment with product direction.

• Facilitate technical refinement sessions with developers and establish criteria for the Definition of Done.

• Refine and design deliverables utilizing AI and GitHub history.

• Manage the team harness, including rules, skills, and AI agents.

• Develop governance protocols for AI-generated code and monitor its adoption.

• Implement Continuous Integration as a quality gate through verifiable standards and code reviews.

• Allocate resources for support and technical debt management.

• Integrate infrastructure priorities into workflows, encompassing observability, deployment, and rollback processes.

• Liaise with vendors concerning scope, service level agreements (SLAs), tracking, and acceptance criteria.

• Oversee planning, refinement, and lead synchronous or asynchronous daily stand-ups.

• Report risks proactively ahead of deadlines.

• Engage in the Product Chapter, providing insights on feasibility, cost, risk, and dependencies.

• Assist Development and QA teams with deployment, observability, and rollback procedures.

• Bridge Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure through influence, without direct management of personnel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience as a software developer.

• Background as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, TPM, or Delivery Manager in SaaS products.

• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies and CI/CD, including pipelines, deployment, observability, and rollback capabilities.

• Proficient in metrics-driven flow management utilizing cycle time, throughput, and DORA metrics.

• Regular use of AI in software development practices.

• Strong structured thinking and synthesis abilities.

• Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment.

• Genuine ability to make decisions, establish processes, and take accountability for outcomes.

• Capability to simplify complex ecosystems.

• Skill in translating technical subjects into business decisions through concise, data-driven communication.

• Utilization of AI for accelerated learning and enhanced team productivity.

• Ability to influence without formal authority.

• Excellent writing skills and effectiveness in remote, asynchronous work settings.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, and GCP/BigQuery.

• Preferred: Experience with legacy systems operating alongside microservices, offline mobile applications, or IoT.

• Preferred: Engagement in reverse engineering or legacy modernization efforts.

• Preferred: Development of rules, skills, and agents for Claude, Cursor, or similar tools.

• Preferred: Coordination with technology vendors and management of SLAs.

• Preferred: Experience with Engineering OKRs and FinOps.
