This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the product roadmap for Pearl's backend systems, API layer, and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define requirements and acceptance criteria for backend initiatives.
• Evaluate the downstream impact on products resulting from changes to APIs, data models, and pipelines.
• Work in partnership with both onshore and offshore backend engineering teams.
• Facilitate planning and communication rhythms with distributed engineering teams.
• Clarify ambiguities, make scoping decisions, and escalate trade-offs as necessary.
• Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead the release planning for backend and data pipeline projects.
• Coordinate timelines, dependencies, and ensure deployment readiness.
• Manage release notes, internal communications, rollback strategies, and post-deployment validation.
• Monitor ongoing, upcoming, and at-risk projects.
• Ensure quality control across all backend product deliverables.
• Oversee initiatives from problem identification through to delivery.
• Identify risks and quality issues, collaborating with engineering to address them.
• Draft requirements documents, release summaries, decision logs, and updates for stakeholders.
• 3–5 years of experience in product management.
• Substantial experience with backend, API, or data platform products.
• Practical knowledge of backend engineering workflows.
• Familiarity with API development and versioning.
• Understanding of data pipelines.
• Awareness of deployment risks and best practices.
• Effectiveness in collaborating with distributed or offshore engineering teams.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Capability to write requirements, release plans, and stakeholder updates.
• Strong product sense to evaluate how backend changes impact dependent products.
• Experience managing release planning and deployment coordination for backend or infrastructure products.
• Proven ability to initiate and drive projects from inception.
• Commitment to quality outcomes, beyond just meeting delivery timelines.
• Genuine interest in how backend decisions influence end-user experiences.
