Technical Manager – Water Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership across the Water Management product range, ensuring that products, materials, and processes align with quality, performance, and compliance standards.

• Lead the development and enhancement of concrete mix designs, manufacturing processes, and technical specifications.

• Drive initiatives for continuous improvement aimed at enhancing quality, productivity, cost efficiency, sustainability, and manufacturing effectiveness.

• Support the innovation and development of new products from the initial concept to production launch.

• Lead technical investigations, problem-solving efforts, and root cause analysis for intricate production, quality, and customer-related issues.

• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Materials Development teams.

• Enhance technical capabilities within manufacturing teams through coaching, training, and sharing knowledge.

• Monitor technical and manufacturing performance, identifying areas for resilience improvement, waste reduction, and customer satisfaction enhancement.

• Assist sales teams with customer inquiries and solution-oriented thinking.

• Propel the Marshalls low carbon product initiative through collaboration both internally and externally.

• Travel frequently across the Water Management manufacturing network, including locations such as Mells, Pollington, and West Lane, often on short notice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Seasoned technical professional with experience in a precast concrete, concrete products, or a comparable manufacturing setting.

• Background in a technical, manufacturing engineering, or concrete technology role.

• Strong understanding of concrete mix design, materials, and product performance.

• Demonstrated history of manufacturing process enhancement and effective problem-solving.

• Familiarity with concrete standards, testing, and compliance requirements.

• Experience in leading technical investigations, trials, and continuous improvement projects.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

• Data-driven mindset when it comes to decision-making.

• Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Concrete Technology, Materials, Construction, or a related field.

• Willingness to travel between various manufacturing sites in the UK.

• Specific experience in Water Management/Civils (desirable).

• Qualification in Concrete Technology (desirable).

• Membership in a professional engineering institution (desirable).

• Lean Six Sigma or project management certification (desirable).
