Technical Manager – Corrugated Manufacturing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer subject matter expertise in Maintenance, Reliability, or Operational Best Practices within corrugated box and converting operations.

• Conduct data analysis to pinpoint opportunities for business enhancements related to equipment, processes, systems, or other business components.

• Formulate strategic and tactical plans aimed at achieving measurable advancements in safety, quality, productivity, reliability, waste, and costs.

• Guide, coach, and mentor team members in continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing, statistical analysis, scientific reasoning, root cause analysis, and standard work procedures.

• Oversee on-site troubleshooting and diagnostic activities.

• Collaborate with leadership to create project roadmaps and establish key milestones for sustainable practices.

• Present findings, action plans, and status updates to various organizational levels, including the VP of Operations.

• Involve subject matter experts, site leaders, operators, and OEM/vendors in relevant discussions.

• Exemplify safe work practices and leadership qualities in line with Hood Container Guiding Principles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise in the corrugated industry, ideally with a broad range of converting equipment experience.

• Background in utilizing a process-oriented approach to implement operational improvements, such as speed trials and setup reductions.

• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools for continuous improvement, along with experience in educating others on these methodologies is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in training related to best practices, processes, procedures, and computer applications.

• Experience in collaborating with other subject matter experts.

• Outstanding interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritize them.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

• Preferred experience in auditing and corrective action planning.

• Willingness to travel at least 75% of the time within the U.S.

• Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Quick adaptability to learn new software systems.
