This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design and sustain compliant, cost-efficient disposal and recovery pathways for hazardous waste throughout the UK and Europe.
• Establish and nurture relationships with external disposal and recovery partners.
• Negotiate commercial contracts that provide optimal value.
• Oversee the commercial pricing functions of the Technical team and ensure an accurate pricing matrix is maintained.
• Assist with customer quotes, tenders, and technical evaluations by providing competitive pricing and routing solutions.
• Discover new treatment technologies, recovery possibilities, and market trends.
• Monitor disposal activities at depots, assess performance, and enhance waste routing and costs.
• Create and uphold hazardous waste export routes in compliance with Transfrontier Shipment Regulations and the Basel Convention requirements.
• Generate commercial reports, KPIs, and management presentations.
• Ensure adherence to hazardous waste legislation and company standards.
• Collaborate with technical teams, depots, customers, and third-party partners to support environmental goals and business expansion.
• HNC (minimum) in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Demonstrated experience in the hazardous waste sector.
• Strong grasp of UK disposal and recovery frameworks.
• Proven senior-level expertise in negotiating commercial contracts and supplier agreements.
• Comprehensive understanding of hazardous waste legislation, waste classification, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong commercial insight balancing technical, regulatory, and financial aspects.
• Valid full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, including overnight stays as necessary.
• Desirable: Degree, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry or a related field.
• Desirable: WAMITAB or equivalent waste management certification.
• Desirable: Experience in establishing and overseeing hazardous waste export routes under TFS regulations and the Basel Convention.
• Desirable: Familiarity with ADR transport regulations, hazardous waste permitting, and UK Appropriate Measures/BAT guidance.
• Desirable: Experience in supporting large-scale tenders and key account pricing within waste management.
• Desirable: Strong skills in presentation and stakeholder management.
• Home-based, remote position.
• Frequent national travel, including site visits, supplier meetings, and occasional overnight stays.
