Technical Leader – Steam Turbine Control Software

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead technical initiatives for Services Projects related to steam turbine controls engineering.

• Ensure excellence in customer order fulfillment from the point of inquiry to acceptance and commercial operation.

• Assist in requisitioning, designing, structuring, validating, and commissioning components for steam turbine control systems.

• Take ownership of technical scope execution, design, and production implementation for both nuclear and fossil steam turbine control projects.

• Identify and mitigate technical risks across the entire controls scope.

• Provide technical insights for customer proposals.

• Support and influence requirements for new product development and product sustainability.

• Drive requirements for architecture, top-level design, verification, validation, and commissioning.

• Ensure compliance with system safety, functionality, performance, interface, reliability, and maintainability requirements.

• Assist in test planning, customer system testing, site installation, startup, and commissioning.

• Coordinate customer requirements and ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support Project Engineers during customer discussions and reviews.

• Promote consistent solutions across the controls scope.

• Apply and enforce software, design practices, and engineering processes for the Mark VIe controls platform.

• Maintain and utilize control application software libraries.

• Provide product support to customers.

• Ensure adherence to internal and industry technical regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.

• Collaborate with global technology teams, internal and external customers, and business leaders.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of design experience in steam turbine controls engineering.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering.

• Experience in nuclear power generation controls or plant operations.

• Familiarity with the design and application of GE power generation controls, HMI, electrical, and cyber systems.

• Strong understanding of steam turbine and plant systems operation and their integration with other systems.

• Proven interpersonal and leadership abilities.

• Capability to apply engineering principles to analyze, design, and troubleshoot systems related to control system retrofits for steam turbines.

• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

• Significant experience in power generation projects, customer interaction, project management, and/or EPCs.

• Demonstrated systems-level thinking.

• Experience working in a matrix organizational structure, cross-functionally.

• Proven ability to achieve goals and objectives.

• Proactive in identifying and resolving technical issues.

• Experience in proposal generation and market-level pricing for turbine controls retrofit opportunities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Access, Visio, and Office Suite.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Ability to gain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if necessary.

• A Master’s degree in a technical field is preferred.

• Field engineering experience with steam turbine controls retrofits is a strong plus.
