Software Engineer L5, Open Connect Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop microservices to facilitate analytics, insights, discovery, and visualizations.

• Design orchestration systems to manage thousands of globally distributed appliances and devices.

• Construct data models and APIs to assist in the management and maintenance of the fleet.

• Create solutions that can be utilized across various domains, including networking, video, and gaming.

• Address challenges related to availability, scalability, and usability.

• Configure, manage, and monitor the Open Connect platform.

• Collaborate with ISPs, team members, engineers, Partner Engagement Managers, project managers, and operations teams.

• Develop and deploy incrementally while ensuring accountability for the quality of work.

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in existing systems and articulate their business impact.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Java or a similar object-oriented programming language, with strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.

• Profound knowledge of cloud architecture and application deployment.

• Capability to build and support highly scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant services.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and debugging systems that handle large data sets.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

• Familiarity with CDN architectures and networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, BGP, and DNS (bonus).

• Experience with various data stores and streaming services, including MySQL, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Kafka, or Redis (bonus).

• Knowledge of GraphQL or related graph modeling and querying concepts (bonus).

• Practical experience with Big Data technologies like Hive, Pig, Hadoop, or similar (bonus).

• Understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WebSockets (bonus).
