Technical Leader – Steam Turbine Control Software

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical scope execution, design, and production implementation for control system projects related to nuclear and fossil steam turbines.

• Recognize and address technical risks throughout the entire controls scope.

• Deliver technical leadership from the commercial inquiry stage through to customer commercial operation for high-risk and complex projects.

• Assist commercial teams by providing technical insights for customer proposals.

• Support and shape new product development as well as sustaining requirements.

• Lead architecture, top-level design, verification, validation, and commissioning requirements.

• Ensure that system safety, functionality, performance, interface, reliability, and maintainability standards are upheld.

• Assist and influence test plans, customer system testing, site installation, startup, and commissioning processes.

• Coordinate customer requirements and ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

• Aid Project Engineers in discussions and reviews with customers.

• Promote consistent solutions across the controls scope.

• Implement and uphold Mark VIe controls platform software, design methodologies, and engineering processes.

• Utilize and maintain control application software libraries.

• Provide product support to customers.

• Ensure adherence to internal and industry technical regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of design experience in steam turbine controls engineering.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering.

• Experience in nuclear power generation controls or plant operations.

• Familiarity with the design and application of GE power generation controls, HMI, electrical, and cyber systems.

• Strong comprehension of steam turbine and plant systems operation and their integration with other systems.

• Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership abilities.

• Capability to apply engineering principles for analyzing, designing, and troubleshooting steam turbine control retrofit systems.

• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.

• Experience in power generation projects, customer interactions, project management, and/or EPCs.

• Systems-level thinking capability.

• Experience working in a matrix organization and cross-functional teams.

• Proven ability to meet goals and objectives.

• Proactive in identifying and resolving technical challenges.

• Proficient in Microsoft Access, Visio, and the Office Suite.

• Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires authorization from the U.S. Government, if applicable.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, as required.
