Technical Leader, Interior Lighting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee technical program management for a specific vehicle line, acting as the primary liaison between the design team and various functional areas such as vehicle program management, engineering, and manufacturing.

• Ensure that systems fulfill functional and performance specifications while meeting objectives related to cost, weight, investment, timing, and quality.

• Manage system responsibilities from the launch phase through to the end of the product's life cycle.

• Assist in bulletin response activities, which include conducting concept studies, performing packaging and cost/weight analyses, procuring prototypes, managing suppliers, initiating tooling, validating, launching, maintaining, handling change management, optimizing value, and improving quality.

• Facilitate the resolution of technical issues across engineering, quality, and functional divisions.

• Participate in plant development and launch activities onsite as an active member of the launch team.

• Define, communicate, and update the vehicle development plan.

• Release specifications to suppliers and oversee Requirements Change Management through Design Change Requests (DCR).

• Lead warranty performance initiatives post-launch, including managing plant warranty tables.

• Spearhead Value Optimization efforts, encompassing teardown events, supplier meetings, and ILO process ideas.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Engineering experience focusing on Interior components, either within an OEM or as a supplier.

• More than 5 years of relevant experience.

• General understanding of tooling and manufacturing processes, including molding, stamping, welding, brazing, machining, casting, and coatings.

• Strong leadership skills with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to advocate for ideas to all stakeholders.

• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and proficiency in root cause analysis.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must.

• Basic financial acumen with the capability to maintain program budgets.

• Proven experience in program management, with the ability to establish timelines and meet required milestones.

• Fundamentals of Requirements Management and Change Management.

• Must possess the ability to lead and manage suppliers effectively.

• Proven experience in collaboratively developing parts/systems with third-party entities (Tier 1s).

• Competence in reviewing and applying component and system Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEAs) and DVP&Rs.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks efficiently.

• Experience with DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) proactive and/or reactive quality tools is a plus.

• Capability and knowledge to create impactful presentations.

• Extensive experience with MS Office applications.

• Ability to operate effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Familiarity with Stellantis systems and/or products is advantageous.

• Willingness to travel to supplier and vehicle assembly plants across North America.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English (technical comprehension and communication with international teams).
