This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Offer global technical guidance in hydraulic engineering, pumping systems, pumping system intakes, and water conveyance infrastructure.
• Act as AECOM's senior corporate authority for hydraulic engineering and associated infrastructure systems.
• Provide advice to project teams, clients, and executive leadership on intricate water, wastewater, stormwater, hydroelectric, industrial, and conveyance infrastructure systems.
• Lead independent technical evaluations and engage in executive-level quality assurance and technical governance programs.
• Chair or serve on Corporate Technical Review Committees.
• Assist major pursuits and strategic growth initiatives through technical methodologies, client presentations, interviews, and proposal creation.
• Represent AECOM to clients, industry organizations, regulatory bodies, academic institutions, and professional societies.
• Create guidance documents, design practices, technical standards, and innovation initiatives.
• Participate in AECOM’s Water Academy program for Pumping Systems.
• Conduct forensic assessments, troubleshooting, peer reviews, and risk mitigation studies related to hydraulic systems and pumping facilities.
• Mentor technical leaders, project managers, and design professionals.
• Encourage collaboration across AECOM's technical practices and support investments in emerging technologies and research.
• Publish technical papers and present at conferences.
• Uphold leadership in national and international standards organizations and industry committees.
• Travel to project sites and AECOM offices as necessary.
• BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, along with 10 years of relevant experience, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Experience with increasing responsibility in hydraulic engineering, pumping system intakes, and water conveyance infrastructure.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with the capability to obtain Professional Engineer licensure in additional jurisdictions through comity/reciprocity.
• Acknowledgment as a national or international technical authority in the field of hydraulic engineering.
• Strong comprehension of HI standards, AWWA standards, USBR guidance, USACE guidance, and related industry best practices.
• Extensive experience in leading complex hydraulic analyses and conducting physical hydraulic modeling studies.
• Capacity to articulate complex technical ideas to clients, executive leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.
• A Master's degree or Ph.D. in a related engineering discipline is preferred.
• Over 15 years of progressively responsible experience in hydraulic engineering, pumping system intakes, and water conveyance infrastructure is preferred.
• More than 20 years of overall industry experience is preferred.
• Internationally acknowledged subject matter expert in hydraulic engineering and pumping systems is preferred.
