This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Act as AECOM's primary corporate authority for hydraulic engineering, pumping system intakes, and associated infrastructure systems.
• Provide expert leadership and advisory assistance on intricate, high-profile projects within AECOM's global water practice.
• Conduct independent technical evaluations and engage in executive-level quality assurance and technical governance initiatives.
• Offer guidance on the planning, design, rehabilitation, and optimization of water, wastewater, stormwater, hydroelectric, industrial, and conveyance infrastructure systems.
• Chair or be a member of Corporate Technical Review Committees.
• Assist in major pursuits and strategic growth initiatives through technical methodologies, client presentations, interviews, and proposal creation.
• Represent AECOM to clients, industry organizations, regulatory bodies, academic institutions, and professional societies.
• Create guidance documents, design practices, technical standards, and innovation initiatives.
• Engage in AECOM’s Water Academy program for Pumping Systems.
• Take part in forensic evaluations, troubleshooting, peer reviews, and risk mitigation studies.
• Mentor technical leaders, project managers, and design professionals.
• Enhance collaboration between AECOM's technical practices and promote investments in emerging technologies and research.
• Publish technical papers and present at conferences.
• Maintain active involvement and leadership within standards organizations and industry committees.
• Travel to project locations and AECOM offices as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field plus 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience and/or education.
• Increasingly responsible experience in hydraulic engineering, pumping system intakes, and water conveyance infrastructure.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with the capacity to obtain licensure in additional jurisdictions through comity/reciprocity.
• Recognized as a national or international technical authority within the hydraulic engineering field.
• Strong knowledge of HI standards, AWWA standards, USBR guidance, USACE guidance, and other relevant industry best practices.
• Extensive experience in leading complex hydraulic analyses and conducting physical hydraulic modeling studies.
• Proven capability to convey intricate technical concepts to clients, executive leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in a related engineering discipline is preferred.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible experience is preferred.
• 20+ years of overall industry experience is preferred.
• Internationally recognized expert in hydraulic engineering and pumping systems is preferred.
