Technical Lead – Chief Security Architect, Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide expert technical leadership for enterprise security architecture and engineering initiatives supporting a significant Federal Government client.

• Act as the technical authority for the design, assessment, modernization, and implementation of secure enterprise architectures.

• Lead security architecture and design evaluations throughout the system development lifecycle.

• Analyze intricate cybersecurity requirements and risks, developing strategies and mitigations for architecture.

• Conduct technical trade-off analyses that consider security, risk, cost, schedule, performance, and mission goals.

• Guide architecture methodologies, tools, diagrams, processes, and technical documentation.

• Provide architectural leadership across cloud, mobile, IoT, APIs, VR/XR, 5G, post-quantum cryptography, cryptography, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and other technologies.

• Coordinate technical direction with program leadership, engineering teams, and Government stakeholders.

• Collaborate with program and project leadership along with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment of security architecture and engineering activities with mission, enterprise architecture, and cybersecurity objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to secure and maintain the necessary VA background investigation/suitability determination and system access.

• Certification in one or more of the following: PMP, IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III.

• A Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture Implementation, Information Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies, Security Engineering, or Network Systems Communications Management.

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in Enterprise Security Architecture Information Security at a large corporation or Government agency comparable in size/scope to GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA.

• Proven experience leading enterprise security architecture and engineering in complex environments.

• Expertise in analyzing complex architecture requirements, risks, and emerging technologies.

• Capability to obtain and maintain the required VA suitability and system access.

• Preferred: Experience as a Chief Security Architect or equivalent role in Federal service.

• Preferred: Background in Health IT architecture.

• Preferred: Advanced enterprise/security architecture certification.
