Technical Lead, Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the vision and roadmap for automation testing, performance testing, and test data management in alignment with organizational objectives.

• Foster innovation and continuous enhancement within technical QA practices.

• Develop governance frameworks for automation, performance, and data strategies.

• Perform technical audits and reviews to ensure quality of implementation and compliance.

• Create and sustain scalable, reusable frameworks for UI, API, performance, and data testing.

• Standardize tools and processes across various teams.

• Assess and incorporate modern and AI-driven tools into the QA ecosystem.

• Connect automation tools with CI/CD pipelines and test management systems.

• Establish and monitor KPIs such as coverage, execution time, reliability, defect leakage, and ROI.

• Create dashboards to track effectiveness, execution history, defect management, and scenario-specific success rates.

• Utilize analytics and historical data to pinpoint risks and opportunities for optimization.

• Design training programs and documentation for QA teams.

• Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and mentor QA engineers.

• Collaborate with QA leads, developers, DevOps, business stakeholders, QA managers, business analysts, and product owners.

• Provide guidance to project teams on automation, performance, and data implementation.

• Assist delivery teams in overcoming technical challenges and optimizing testing methodologies.

• Encourage experimentation and innovation, including the integration of AI/ML in testing.

• Evaluate and refine strategies, frameworks, and tools in comparison to industry standards.

• Analyze requirements to define scope and assess technical feasibility for test automation.

• Supervise script development, dry runs, and batch execution.

• Ensure traceability and coverage across testing artifacts.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues.

• Monitor and report on automation metrics and ROI.

• Ensure compliance with QA policy and regulatory requirements.

• Serve as a technical advisor during stakeholder demonstrations and internal audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8–10 years of experience in QA, with 5+ years in automation leadership roles.

• ISTQB or equivalent certification is preferred.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proficient in application design, architecture, development, and deployment of TCOE automation manifesto.

• Strong understanding of the banking domain and QA best practices.

• Exceptional skills in testing design and implementation.

• Experienced in automating banking applications.

• Capable of conducting feasibility analysis for test automation.

• Familiar with embedding automation into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows.

• Expertise in synthetic data generation, Excel-based input handling, and validation logic.

• Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript.

• Experienced with tools including Selenium, Playwright, Appium, JMeter, Jenkins, Git, and Azure DevOps.

• Knowledgeable in BDD (Cucumber), TestNG, and JUnit.

• Experienced with Postman and SoapUI for API testing.

• Familiar with SQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.

• Ability to lead and mentor automation engineers across different pods and geographical locations.
