Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary technical liaison to the VA for designated products

• Assist in build planning, sprint execution, and product releases

• Manage product architecture documentation, AS-IS/TO-BE models, interface control documents, and change requests

• Facilitate backlog refinement sessions with the VA Product Owner

• Break down epics into features and user stories with defined acceptance criteria

• Supervise CI/CD processes using VA-approved tools

• Champion ATO maintenance and address security remediation

• Lead Tier II/III troubleshooting and ongoing support

• Offer technical insights during PI Planning

• Senior: Oversee multiple teams or a sub-product line

• Senior: Provide mentorship to fellow technical leads

• Senior: Represent the product in program governance meetings

⛳️ Requirements

• Mid / Level II: Over 8 years of experience, including at least 2 years as a technical lead or product owner in a federal program

• Senior / Level III: More than 13 years of experience, comprising 7 years in a technical role and 3 years leading federal teams

• Experience with VA enterprise systems, such as VistA, VAEC, VA TRM, and ATO

• Technical leadership in Agile/DevSecOps across cross-functional teams

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

• Eligibility to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust

• Ability to secure a VA PIV credential

• Certification as a SAFe Architect or SAFe Agilist

• Certification as a Red Hat Certified Specialist or Architect in OpenShift

• Desired: Experience with HELM products such as Maximo, Nuvolo/ServiceNow, DMLSS, Prosthetics, or VALIP

• Desired: Experience as a product owner on a SAFe release train

• Desired: Familiarity with OpenShift and VAEC (AWS/Azure) hosting

• SAFe POPM certification is advantageous
