Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical design and execution of AI-driven product features from initial concept to full production.

• Take ownership of the complete architecture for AI solutions, encompassing data flows, model integration, APIs, and application integration.

• Make practical choices to expedite delivery while upholding system integrity.

• Ensure that AI solutions are secure, observable, scalable, and in compliance with platform standards.

• Serve as the technical lead for a cross-functional AI Pod.

• Decompose product requirements into actionable technical workstreams and prototypes.

• Facilitate rapid iteration cycles, proofs-of-concept, and MVPs, balancing experimentation with production readiness.

• Evaluate code, architecture, and technical decisions to ensure quality and efficiency.

• Collaborate with Product Management to define problem statements, success metrics, and delivery strategies.

• Work alongside the Data Science Leader to incorporate models, analytics, and data assets into product workflows.

• Convert data science outputs into usable APIs, services, and product features.

• Offer technical insights on feasibility, scope, and trade-offs during the product discovery phase.

• Confirm that features are production-ready, including monitoring, logging, and performance tracking.

• Establish AI guardrails concerning reliability, latency, cost controls, and failure modes.

• Support experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, and post-launch learning loops.

• Advocate for responsible AI practices, such as explainability, bias awareness, and data privacy considerations.

• Define and enforce streamlined engineering standards for AI-enabled systems.

• Encourage the reuse of components, prompts, pipelines, and services across AI initiatives.

• Mentor pod engineers on AI-related system design and best practices.

• Contribute to internal documentation and shared AI patterns/playbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience, including leading complex systems.

• Extensive experience in designing and building production APIs and backend services.

• Proficiency in Python and at least one backend programming language (e.g., Java, Node.js, Go).

• Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Strong understanding of data pipelines, model serving, and system observability.

• Ability to collaborate closely with product teams in dynamic, iterative environments.

• Comfortable operating in an English-speaking professional setting.

• Preferred: Experience in AI-first or data-driven product teams.

• Preferred: Familiarity with modern LLM platforms, prompt engineering, and agent frameworks.

• Preferred: Experience in operationalizing ML models (model serving, monitoring, versioning).

• Preferred: Exposure to experimentation platforms, feature flags, and A/B testing.

• Preferred: Experience in Agile or product-led development environments.
