Senior Software Engineer Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Kong API Gateway environments.

• Automate the provisioning of infrastructure and deployment of applications utilizing Terraform and Ansible.

• Monitor the health of the platform, troubleshoot incidents, and facilitate issue resolution.

• Collaborate closely with development and platform teams to onboard and manage APIs.

• Implement best practices for security, performance, and reliability.

• Provide support for AWS-based infrastructure and containerized environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with Kong API and AI Gateway technologies, along with cloud platforms and infrastructure automation.

• Proven experience in supporting and managing API platforms.

• Familiarity with Linux-based systems.

• Experience in automating deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

• Availability to work during CT or ET hours.

• Solid background in API Management and Gateway technologies.

• Hands-on experience in Kong API Gateway administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.

• Profound knowledge of Linux operating systems and shell scripting.

• Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, Load Balancers, IAM, CloudWatch, and EKS.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.

• Skills in configuration management and automation using Ansible.

• Understanding of REST APIs, API security, OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS, and networking concepts.

• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools such as Git.

• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues effectively.

• Background investigation is required.

• Must have a dedicated, private home workspace equipped with appropriate desk and seating.

• Reliable internet connection is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
