Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary technical liaison to the VA for designated products

• Facilitate build planning, sprint execution, and product releases

• Manage the architecture documentation for each product, including AS-IS/TO-BE models, interface control documents, and change requests

• Lead backlog refinement sessions in collaboration with the VA Product Owner

• Break down epics into features and stories with defined acceptance criteria

• Supervise CI/CD processes utilizing VA-approved tools

• Ensure the maintenance of ATO and address security remediation

• Oversee Tier II/III troubleshooting and ongoing support

• Contribute technical insights during PI Planning

• For Senior positions, oversee multiple teams or a sub-product line, mentor fellow leads, and represent the product in program governance

⛳️ Requirements

• Mid / Level II: 8+ years of experience, including at least 2 years as a technical lead or product owner on a federal program

• Senior / Level III: 13+ years of experience, with a minimum of 7 years in technical roles and 3 years leading federal teams

• Experience with VA enterprise systems (VistA, VAEC, VA TRM, ATO)

• Proven track record in Agile/DevSecOps technical leadership of cross-functional teams

• Familiarity with HELM products: Maximo, Nuvolo/ServiceNow, DMLSS, Prosthetics, or VALIP

• Product owner experience within a SAFe release train

• Experience with OpenShift and VAEC (AWS/Azure) hosting environments

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

• Ability to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust and a VA PIV credential

• SAFe Architect or SAFe Agilist certification; Red Hat Certified Specialist or Architect in OpenShift; SAFe POPM certification is a plus
