Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand an engineering pod that is distributed across Latin America and the United States.

• Establish the technical direction, allocate and prioritize tasks, and implement mentorship, feedback, and career development practices.

• Gain the trust of senior engineers through technical competence and active listening.

• Enhance agile methodologies for a distributed team.

• Define an agentic AI software development lifecycle, including guidelines for specification, review, testing, and deployment.

• Oversee the architecture for Next.js applications that facilitate case and workflow management as well as external partner integrations.

• Lead the transition of legacy Flask/jQuery systems to Next.js, Node, and TypeScript.

• Design and execute RAG architectures and AI agent workflows for tasks such as case intake, submission review, and reconciliation.

• Manage the data pipelines and the data layer that connects the platform with client financial systems.

• Optimize intricate PostgreSQL/MySQL queries and scale the infrastructure for clinical, legal, and financial records.

• Collaborate with the Product/Project Manager and business stakeholders on task sequencing, trade-offs, and project scope.

• Take responsibility for engineering execution, ensuring delivery reliability and pace.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in the United States.

• Demonstrated engineering leadership with previous formal experience in leading or managing a team of engineers.

• Experience in guiding a distributed and blended team across multiple countries and time zones, including both employees and agency/contract staff.

• Over 7 years of experience in building and scaling production-grade web applications, with recent hands-on involvement.

• Full-stack proficiency with a focus on backend/infrastructure, including API design, microservices orchestration, and database optimization.

• Familiarity with modern frontend technologies.

• Regular use of AI tools and a perspective on code review, testing, security, and cost management for AI-generated code.

• Capability to justify architectural trade-offs to senior leadership and represent the team in high-stakes discussions.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with approximately 100 employees.

• Must successfully pass a background check.

• Capacity to lead and maintain coordination with a distributed team across Latin America and the US.

• Experience with Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL/MySQL, and AWS.

• Experience in regulated domains such as healthcare, fintech, or other compliance-heavy sectors is advantageous.
