Manager, Full Stack Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and nurture a team of software engineers through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development.

• Design, develop, enhance, and modernize applications, APIs, integrations, and services across various technology platforms.

• Engage in hands-on software engineering tasks including coding, architecture, debugging, testing, and conducting code reviews.

• Establish engineering best practices while maintaining elevated standards for software quality, security, and performance.

• Drive initiatives for modernization, cloud adoption, reduction of technical debt, and optimization of platforms.

• Collaborate with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and fellow engineering leaders to define technical solutions and prioritize delivery.

• Implement and advocate for DevSecOps, CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and practices of operational excellence.

• Promote the responsible and effective utilization of AI-assisted development tools.

• Support technology strategies to prepare legacy systems for future enterprise migrations.

• Ensure that solutions comply with security, privacy, compliance, and healthcare regulatory requirements.

• Occasionally travel to Humana offices for training or meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 8 years of software engineering experience in building and supporting enterprise applications and distributed systems.

• Experience in leading, mentoring, or managing software engineers within a technical environment.

• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft technologies, including .NET / C#, SQL Server, RESTful APIs and integrations, and contemporary software design and architecture practices.

• Experience in developing and deploying solutions within Microsoft Azure.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

• Proven ability to modernize legacy applications and enhance operational reliability.

• Experience in conducting code reviews and establishing engineering best practices.

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to function effectively in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.

• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

• Experience in leading cloud transformation or modernization projects.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and code-generation technologies.

• Understanding of healthcare, payer, managed care, Medicaid, or regulated industry environments.

• Experience implementing DevSecOps and security-first engineering practices.

• Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI handling requirements, and healthcare compliance standards.

• Experience supporting complex enterprise integrations and third-party platforms.

• Azure certifications and/or Microsoft technology certifications.

• Home internet service with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.

• Ability to work from a dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.
