Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Establish the architectural framework for each project, encompassing skill breakdown, tool orchestration, data flow, integration strategies, and deployment models.

• Ensure that the architecture adheres to security best practices and meets client specifications.

• Create client-specific guidelines.

• Review and approve AI Workflow Engineer outputs in accordance with the agreed architectural framework.

• Manage integration architecture with client systems, which includes authentication, data ingestion, downstream deployment, and monitoring.

• Make decisions between platform and custom solutions in collaboration with the Head of Platform Engineering and Product.

• Design and document the intended technical state, transition strategy, and operational readiness criteria for handover.

• Maintain the technical risk register for engagements and escalate risks to the Delivery Principal.

• Act as Technical Lead across various client engagements.

• Collaborate with the Delivery Principal on project scope, timelines, and technical feasibility.

• Present technical architecture to senior client stakeholders, including CTOs, technical partners, information security personnel, and enterprise architects.

• Define integrations and collaborate with platform development teams on connectivity and upstream system integration.

• Advise AI Workflow Engineers on architectural decisions, prompting strategies, and evaluation designs.

• Provide technical input during commercial discussions and identify potential scope creep and platform limitations.

• Develop and mentor AI Workflow Engineers and Integration Engineers.

• Offer structured technical insights to functional managers regarding capability development.

• Contribute architectural patterns and technical playbooks to the Technical Lead community.

• Refine standards based on engagement experiences.

• Mentor junior Technical Leads.

• Aid in the development of capabilities across the cohort.

• Ensure compliance with client specifications, data protection regulations, security standards, and AiVA architectural guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, or enterprise integration.

• Proven experience in leading complex technical architecture for client-facing delivery projects.

• Comfortable presenting to senior technical audiences.

• Experience working with AI or automation platforms at an enterprise level.

• Familiarity with agent frameworks, LLM APIs, and orchestration patterns.

• Cloud certification, preferably in Azure; relevant AWS or GCP certification or equivalent demonstrated cloud architecture experience is acceptable.

• Strong background in integration engineering, including authentication, data pipelines, deployment infrastructure, and monitoring.

• Ability to work effectively across different geographies and time zones.

• Experience in legal, professional services, or knowledge-worker environments is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Strong technical presence among Chief Technology Officers, enterprise architects, and technical partners.

• Capability to guide technical projects without needing to handle every implementation task.

• Ability to juggle multiple engagements and competing priorities.

• Interest in AI-enabled automation architecture and the broader AI engineering community.
