Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the delivery process for the Passenger iOS, Android, and Web applications, effectively addressing obstacles and ensuring predictable release schedules.

• Stay actively engaged in technical implementations, design discussions, and code reviews, establishing high standards for engineering excellence.

• Propel the integration of Masabi's Justride SDK and public APIs into Passenger applications.

• Oversee application migrations, manage releases, and plan rollouts and deployment activities.

• Promote engineering practices that facilitate efficient delivery across the team.

• Guide and mentor a team of engineers through regular one-on-one meetings, coaching, performance evaluations, and clear development discussions.

• Foster an environment conducive to growth, development, and optimal performance for engineers.

• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, delivery plans, and team objectives.

• Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and team development initiatives as necessary.

• Provide stakeholders with visibility on delivery progress, risks, and dependencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A strong hands-on engineer, proficient in at least one native platform (Swift/UIKit or Kotlin/Coroutines) and capable of navigating both confidently.

• Experience in leading technical delivery across engineering teams, maintaining quality through code reviews and design guidance rather than detaching from the work.

• Proven track record of managing and developing engineers directly, conducting one-on-one meetings, providing coaching, and delivering constructive feedback.

• Comfortable working with multi-tenant or white-label products, where a single codebase serves multiple clients with varying needs.

• Experience in delivering and evolving production applications, including migration or modernization initiatives.

• Knowledgeable in SDK and API integrations.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and ability to showcase their integration into engineering workflows.

• A calm and effective communicator who keeps stakeholders informed and balances coding responsibilities with leadership duties.
