This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Develop and execute practical solutions, encompassing services, integrations, automation, and prototypes.
• Take ownership of architecture, decisions regarding build-versus-buy, tooling, and integrations.
• Produce production-level code, evaluate pull requests, collaborate with engineers, and establish technical standards.
• Lead development initiatives driven by AI utilizing AI coding assistants and agentic workflows.
• Integrate LLM APIs into both products and internal tools.
• Ensure that solutions are compatible with ERP/CRM systems, identity management, data platforms, and cloud infrastructure, while adhering to security, scalability, and maintainability standards.
• Guide engineers on a daily basis, set strategic direction, assign responsibilities, and prioritize high-impact work.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent through collaborative coding, design discussions, and constructive feedback.
• Foster a strong engineering culture and engage in recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Act as the main technical liaison for business stakeholders and product owners.
• Transform business objectives into functional solutions through prototypes and demonstrations.
• Report on progress, identify risks, and evaluate trade-offs; provide constructive challenges to requests and suggest alternatives.
• Lead initiatives from inception to completion through careful scoping, sequencing, and delivery.
• Eliminate obstacles, coordinate dependencies across teams and vendors, and utilize relevant delivery metrics.
• Over 7 years of experience in software development, including recent and sustained hands-on coding.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java.
• Capability to design, develop, troubleshoot, and deploy production systems.
• Proven experience in AI-driven software development, including the use of AI coding assistants, LLM APIs, prompt/context engineering, or AI-enhanced features and workflows.
• Strong background in enterprise systems and integration methodologies, including ERP/CRM platforms, REST/event-driven APIs and middleware, identity management, cloud services, and data pipelines.
• History of leading the delivery of enterprise software projects while remaining an active contributor.
• Experience in leading and nurturing engineering teams or serving as a technical lead.
• Outstanding communication skills for articulating technical choices, negotiating project scope, and mentoring engineers.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, testing methodologies, and iterative delivery processes.
• Background in the built environment, energy sector, engineering services, or a related field.
• Familiarity with MCP, agentic AI systems, or the deployment of LLM-based features into production.
• Hands-on experience with integrations involving Microsoft 365, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise ecosystems.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience is preferred.
