This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct QA/QC inspections on commercial, residential, and industrial building systems, encompassing electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and structural elements.
• Execute building assessment projects, including data aggregation, equipment bar coding, housing data collection, parking lot analyses, and surveys.
• Perform walk-through surveys of accessible and visible building equipment, systems, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exteriors, roofs, and pavements.
• Gather data from equipment plates and input it into web-based applications.
• Take photographs of equipment, tags, site attributes, and building characteristics.
• Assess equipment condition and apply bar codes to the identified items.
• Review plans, construction documents, scopes of work, property records, maintenance records, inspection reports, warranties, and repair/improvement estimates.
• Following training and on-site experience, conduct comprehensive assessments including Property Condition Assessments, ADA checklists, and environmental data collection.
• Draft written reports detailing findings in accordance with ASTM standards, utilizing computers, iPads, and other electronic devices and software.
• Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-conformance issues, recommending corrective measures.
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and standards including ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME.
• Communicate inspection outcomes and compliance issues to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other inspectors to uphold consistency and quality control.
• Update senior management on project status and any potential issues.
• Achieve productivity and report-quality goals.
• Provide prompt customer service and proactive solutions to clients.
• Adhere to company policies, SOPs, work instructions, and safety protocols.
• Travel by plane, motor vehicle, and train to various client and project locations across the U.S.
• Certification as a Home Inspector or InterNACHI certification is mandatory.
• A high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary.
• A valid driver’s license is required with no significant motor vehicle report (MVR) points/violations (clean driving record).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures is required.
• Ability to convey information and respond to inquiries from clients, peers, and technical field staff.
• Capacity to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret diverse instructions and handle both abstract and concrete variables.
• Skills in time management, active listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Strong oral and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Must maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
• A cell phone and personal internet service are required.
• Must meet physical demands, including walking, standing, crouching, climbing stairs/ladders, operating tablets/computers, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Capacity to safely operate a motor vehicle with passengers.
• Ability to effectively work from a remote location.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively to client sites nationwide, with travel expectations of 75–90%, overnight stays, and deployments of up to three consecutive weeks.
