This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct QA/QC inspections on commercial, residential, and industrial building systems, covering electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and structural elements.
• Undertake building assessment projects that involve data aggregation, equipment bar coding, housing data collection, parking lot evaluations, and surveys.
• Perform walk-through evaluations of accessible and visible building equipment, systems, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exteriors, roofs, and pavements.
• Collect data from equipment plates using web-based applications; photograph equipment and labels; assess equipment condition; and apply bar codes.
• Compile photographic documentation of equipment, site characteristics, and observations.
• Review plans, construction documents, scopes of work, property records, maintenance logs, inspection reports, warranties, and repair/improvement costs against site conditions.
• After receiving training and gaining on-site experience, execute complex assessments such as Property Condition Assessments, ADA checklists, and environmental data gathering.
• Create comprehensive written reports that accurately reflect findings in accordance with ASTM standards using computers, iPads, and other software tools.
• Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-compliance issues while recommending corrective measures.
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and industry standards, including ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME.
• Communicate findings and compliance issues to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders effectively.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and inspectors to uphold consistency and quality control throughout projects.
• Maintain project communication with senior management regarding deployment issues and potential challenges.
• Achieve productivity and report-quality targets.
• Safeguard confidential company information while providing timely and proactive customer service.
• Adhere to company policies, SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Work overtime when permitted and travel frequently to client locations.
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is mandatory; some college education is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
• Certification as a Home Inspector or InterNACHI certification is required.
• A valid driver's license is essential, with no significant motor vehicle report (MVR) points/violations (clean driving record).
• Must possess a cell phone and provide your own internet service.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Capability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures is essential.
• Ability to present information and address inquiries from clients, peers, and technical field staff effectively.
• Competence in defining problems, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret diverse instructions and work with both abstract and concrete variables.
• Strong time management, active listening, critical thinking, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
• Capacity to meet the physical demands of the role.
• Proficiency in successfully working from a remote location.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely with passengers.
• Competency in operating an electronic tablet in the field and using a computer.
• Willingness to travel extensively to client sites across the U.S.
• Ability to work near energized electrical components and in outdoor, elevated, precarious, and varying weather conditions.
• Capability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
