Technical Assessor, Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct QA/QC inspections of commercial, residential, and industrial building systems, covering electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and structural elements.

• Execute building assessment initiatives, which include data aggregation, equipment barcoding, housing data gathering, parking lot evaluations, and surveys.

• Perform walk-through inspections of building equipment, systems, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exteriors, roofs, and pavements.

• Gather data from equipment plates and input it into web-based applications.

• Capture photographs of equipment, tags, site attributes, and building characteristics.

• Assess equipment condition and apply barcodes to identified items.

• Review plans, construction documents, scopes of work, property records, maintenance logs, inspection reports, warranties, and repair/improvement estimates.

• Progress to conducting intricate assessments such as Property Condition Assessments, ADA checklists, and environmental data collection following training and on-site experience.

• Generate written reports that accurately detail findings in accordance with ASTM standards using computers, iPads, and other electronic devices and software.

• Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-compliance issues while suggesting corrective measures.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and industry standards including ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME.

• Relay inspection results and compliance concerns to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and inspectors to uphold inspection consistency and quality assurance.

• Communicate with senior management about issues and potential challenges during site deployments.

• Achieve productivity and report quality goals.

• Deliver timely customer service and proactive solutions to client requirements.

• Adhere to company policies, SOPs, work instructions, and safety protocols.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding company information.

• Be available for overtime when authorized.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required; some college education is preferred.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• A valid driver's license is required with no significant motor vehicle report (MVR) points/violations (clean driving record).

• Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures.

• Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing questions from clients, colleagues, and technical field personnel.

• Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Competent in interpreting a wide range of instructions and managing both abstract and concrete variables.

• Willingness to travel by plane, motor vehicle, or train to client locations across the U.S.

• Must be prepared to travel 75–90% of the time, including overnight stays and on-site assignments of up to three consecutive weeks.
