This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct QA/QC inspections for commercial, residential, and industrial building systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and structural elements.
• Execute building assessment projects such as data aggregation, equipment bar coding, housing data collection, parking lot analyses, and surveys.
• Perform walk-through evaluations of building equipment, systems, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exteriors, roofs, and pavements.
• Extract data from equipment plates, photograph equipment and tags, assess equipment condition, and implement bar coding.
• Compile photographic documentation of equipment, site features, and observations.
• Analyze plans, construction documents, scopes of work, property records, maintenance reports, inspection reports, warranties, and repair/improvement costs in relation to site conditions.
• Progress to more advanced assessments post-training, including Property Condition Assessments, ADA checklists, and environmental data collection.
• Generate written reports that accurately detail findings in accordance with ASTM standards using computers, iPads, and various software tools.
• Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-conformance issues, while recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and standards, including ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME.
• Communicate inspection outcomes and compliance issues to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, inspectors, senior management, and project teams.
• Manage project communication, address issues, achieve productivity and report quality goals, safeguard confidential information, and deliver timely client service.
• Adhere to company policies, SOPs, work instructions, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Travel 75–90% of the time to client/project locations throughout the U.S.; onsite visits may extend up to three consecutive weeks with overnight accommodations.
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required; some college education is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities are essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• A valid driver's license is necessary, with no significant points or violations on the motor vehicle report (clean driving record).
• Must possess a cell phone and have access to personal internet service.
• Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures is required.
• Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from clients, peers, and technical field staff.
• Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and reach valid conclusions.
• Capable of interpreting a wide range of instructions and managing both abstract and concrete variables.
• Time management, active listening, critical thinking, problem-solving, and oral/written communication skills are vital.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Must maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including walking, standing, climbing stairs/ladders, crouching, using electronic devices, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to successfully work from a remote location is required.
• Capable of safely operating a motor vehicle with passengers.
• Willingness to travel by plane, motor vehicle, and train to client sites across the U.S.
