Technical Assessor – Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct QA/QC inspections of various building systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, as well as structural elements.

• Execute building assessment projects such as data collection, equipment bar coding, housing data gathering, parking lot evaluations, and surveys.

• Perform walk-through inspections of building systems, equipment, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exterior walls, windows, roofs, and pavements.

• Collect data from equipment plates for web-based systems; take photographs of equipment and tags; assess equipment conditions; and apply bar codes.

• Compile photographic evidence and document site and building observations.

• Analyze plans, construction documentation, scopes of work, property records, maintenance reports, inspection reports, warranties, and repair/improvement expenses.

• Advance to more intricate assessments such as Property Condition Assessments, ADA checklists, and environmental data collection following training and on-site experience.

• Create detailed reports outlining findings in accordance with ASTM standards using computers, iPads, and other software tools.

• Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-conformance issues and suggest corrective measures.

• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and standards including ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME.

• Communicate inspection outcomes and compliance matters to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and inspectors to uphold inspection consistency and quality control.

• Maintain project communication with senior management regarding issues and potential challenges.

• Achieve productivity and report quality targets.

• Provide prompt customer service and proactive solutions to client requirements.

• Adhere to company policies, SOPs, work instructions, safety protocols, and quality standards.

• Travel extensively to client/project locations, including deployments lasting up to three consecutive weeks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is mandatory; some college education is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Capability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures.

• Ability to effectively present information and answer questions from clients, peers, and technical field staff.

• Skill in defining problems, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

• Proficiency in interpreting a wide range of instructions and managing both abstract and concrete variables.

• Time management, active listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to remain alert and work safely in a constant state of awareness.

• Must possess a cell phone and provide personal internet service.

• A valid driver's license is required with no significant points/violations on the motor vehicle report.

• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including walking, standing, climbing, crawling, lifting up to 40 pounds, and using electronic devices.

• Ability to effectively work from a remote location.

• Skill in safely operating a motor vehicle with passengers.

• Required travel by plane, motor vehicle, and train to client sites throughout the U.S.; 75–90% travel is necessary.

• Overnight stays away from home will be required during deployments.
