Technical Application Specialist – Water Treatment/Wastewater

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the expansion and enhancement of Hawkins’ water treatment offerings in both industrial and municipal sectors.

• Collaborate with customers and internal sales teams to create solutions, perform testing, troubleshoot systems, and discover new business prospects.

• Execute on-site evaluations of products for coagulation, sludge dewatering, wastewater clarification, and permanganate demand assessments.

• Oversee plant trials and provide data-driven treatment suggestions for both potable and wastewater systems.

• Carry out coagulation analyses for potable water products.

• Perform wastewater product selection assessments for municipal and industrial clarification processes.

• Conduct studies on sludge dewatering for municipal and industrial uses.

• Execute coagulation and permanganate demand evaluations, recommending treatments for iron filtration systems.

• Support sales efforts for water treatment chemicals in industrial, municipal, and metal finishing markets.

• Aid professional organizations in conducting training seminars.

• Contribute to the development of new products and applications related to Hawkins’ offerings.

• Diagnose customer treatment systems and suggest enhancements for improved performance.

• Educate personnel within the Hawkins Water Treatment Group on potable and wastewater applications.

• Assist the sales team with recommendations for scale and corrosion treatments in potable water systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A four-year degree or equivalent experience is mandatory.

• A degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering is preferred.

• Experience in the Water/Wastewater technical field is advantageous.

• Capability to identify relevant business opportunities and key individuals within accounts.

• Ability to earn the trust of customers.

• Proven ability to manage a high volume of activity in diverse conditions.

• Proficient in presenting information about Hawkins’ products and services in a professional and positive manner.

• Strong computer skills; experience with JDE is preferable.

• Excellent customer service abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Competent problem-solving skills.

• Previous sales experience is a plus.

• Strong mathematical abilities, including the capability to perform calculations for flow rates.

• Exceptional organization and time management skills.

• Effective negotiation skills.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow through on tasks.

• Background in a role requiring autonomy and self-motivation.

• Must possess a clean driving record and pass drug and background screenings.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. for distances of 10–20 feet up to 10 times per day; frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs.

• Capability to sit, stand, and climb stairs for up to 12 hours daily.

• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 45 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.

• Occasional ability to turn, twist, stoop, bend, and reach.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
