Technical Application Specialist – Water Treatment, Wastewater

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in expanding Hawkins’ water treatment operations within both industrial and municipal sectors.

• Collaborate with clients and internal sales teams to devise solutions, perform testing, troubleshoot systems, and uncover new business prospects.

• Execute on-site product assessments, encompassing coagulation, sludge dewatering, wastewater clarification, and permanganate demand analysis.

• Direct plant trials and provide data-driven treatment recommendations for both potable and wastewater systems.

• Carry out coagulation studies for potable water solutions.

• Perform wastewater product selection assessments for municipal and industrial clarification.

• Lead sludge dewatering evaluations for municipal and industrial contexts.

• Conduct coagulation and permanganate demand studies, suggesting treatments for iron filtration systems.

• Support chemical sales initiatives targeting industrial, municipal, and metal finishing sectors.

• Aid professional organizations in conducting training seminars.

• Contribute to the development of new products and applications for Hawkins' offerings.

• Troubleshoot client treatment systems and propose enhancements for performance.

• Assist in training personnel within the Hawkins Water Treatment Group on potable and wastewater applications.

• Support the sales team with recommendations for scale and corrosion treatment in potable water.

⛳️ Requirements

• A four-year degree or equivalent experience is required.

• A degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering is preferred.

• Experience in the Water/Wastewater technical field is advantageous.

• Ability to identify suitable business opportunities and key personnel within accounts.

• Capability to build trust with customers.

• Proven ability to manage a high level of activity under various conditions.

• Skill in professionally and positively presenting information about Hawkins' products and services.

• Strong computer proficiency; experience with JDE is preferred.

• Excellent customer service abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Good problem-solving capabilities.

• Previous sales experience is preferred.

• Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform calculations for flow rates.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

• Strong negotiation skills.

• High attention to detail.

• Effective organizational and follow-through skills are required.

• History of working in a role that necessitated autonomy and self-motivation.

• Must possess a clean driving record and pass drug and background screenings.

• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. for distances of 10–20 feet up to 10 times a day; frequently lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds.

• Ability to sit, stand, and climb stairs for up to 12 hours daily.

• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 45 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.

• Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching are necessary.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
