Technical Advisor II – REACH Malaria

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer technical advice, guidance, and support regarding malaria to Country Program teams, focusing on program design and execution.

• Contribute to the development of agency-wide malaria strategies, standards, tools, and best practices.

• Collaborate with partners, donors, governments, and cross-sectoral stakeholders, incorporating gender considerations, protection mainstreaming, and disaster risk reduction.

• Deliver technical solutions to REACH Malaria teams both remotely and on-site, aiding in strategic planning and implementation of program standards, tools, and monitoring and evaluation practices.

• Provide technical support across multiple countries where CRS collaborates with PATH on various initiatives.

• Stay updated on current malaria technical knowledge and oversee the introduction and scaling of best practices and technical interventions.

• Enhance capacity through learning and training strategies, developing curricula, conducting workshops, mentoring, and coaching.

• Facilitate knowledge management and learning by gathering and analyzing program data, assessing activities, measuring impact, and disseminating lessons learned.

• Build and sustain relationships with donors, primary contractors, national malaria programs, peer organizations, research institutions, and other partners.

• Engage in malaria programming forums to gather and share best practices.

• Collaborate with the USG-funded REACH Malaria project, which aids countries in providing facility- and community-based malaria services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree is required.

• At least eight years of relevant international experience in an advisory or management capacity with increasing responsibilities.

• A minimum of three years of experience in programming interventions related to malaria.

• Previous experience in providing technical assistance and in developing successful proposals for external donor funding.

• Proven application of technical principles and concepts in malaria programming.

• General understanding of related fields, such as MNCH programs.

• Proficient in MS Office applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Skilled in web conferencing tools, information and budget management systems, and knowledge-sharing platforms.

• Experience in business development, project design, proposal writing, and technical documentation specifically in malaria.

• Background in mentoring, coaching, facilitation, and training utilizing adult learning principles.

• Experienced in program monitoring and evaluation, including data collection methodologies, data analysis, and data presentation.

• Proven ability to network and manage relationships with donors, national malaria programs, peer organizations, and faith-based civil society partners.

• Understanding of partnership principles.

• Strong relationship management, strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and systems thinking abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong skills in presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching.

• Proficiency in English and French is required.

• Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time.

• Ability to legally work in the location where the position is based.

• Candidates who require residence or frequent travel outside their home country must pass pre-employment medical clearance.

• A Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Systems, Medical Sciences, or a related field is preferred/an advantage.
