Technical Advisor II – Family Strengthening

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Offer technical leadership, advice, guidance, and support regarding family strengthening and safe family-based alternative care initiatives.

• Act as the primary technical resource for enhancing child protection systems and advocating for family-based care.

• Create and enhance technical strategies, guidance, tools, and implementation frameworks.

• Deliver both remote and on-site technical solutions to regional and Country Program teams.

• Assist government bodies, faith organizations, civil society groups, and social service workforces in bolstering child protection and family care services.

• Contribute to the technical design of comprehensive and intricate proposals, as well as monitoring systems and indicators.

• Guide project teams on the integration of donor strategies, priorities, and technical specifications.

• Design learning strategies, training curricula, technical guidance, workshops, mentoring, and coaching initiatives.

• Foster cross-country learning, knowledge management, and the sharing of best practices.

• Gather and analyze program data, assess strategic projects, evaluate impact, and create technical reports and learning materials.

• Support milestone-based deliverables, technical validation, and adaptive management processes.

• Build and maintain relationships with donors, peer organizations, research institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Engage in forums concerning early childhood development, nurturing care, positive parenting, child health, nutrition, early learning, and household economic strengthening.

• Coordinate technical support alongside the Child Protection and Care System Strengthening Technical Advisor II.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Protection, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Human Services, International Development, Social Policy, Public Policy, Education, or a related discipline.

• At least eight years of pertinent international work experience in an advisory or management capacity with increasing responsibilities.

• A minimum of three years of experience in supporting family strengthening, alternative care, early childhood development, household economic strengthening, safeguarding, or related fields.

• Prior experience in providing technical assistance and successfully developing proposals for external donor funding.

• Proven technical application in family strengthening, family-based alternative care, safeguarding, reintegration, and family-based case management.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications, web conferencing tools, information and budget management systems, and knowledge-sharing platforms.

• Experience in business development, project design, proposal formulation, and technical writing.

• Background in mentoring, coaching, facilitation, and training utilizing adult learning principles.

• Experience in program monitoring and evaluation, including data collection, analysis, presentation, and utilization for decision-making.

• Proven ability to network with donors, partners, peer organizations, and faith-based civil society groups.

• Strong skills in relationship management, strategic thinking, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and systems thinking.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching.

• Fluency in English is mandatory.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the location where the position is based.

• Must sign and comply with the CRS Code of Conduct.

• Pre-employment medical clearance is required for roles necessitating residence or frequent travel outside of the home country.
