Technical Advisor II – Emergency Nutrition

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer expert technical advice, guidance, and support on program design and execution, particularly concerning larger Emergency Nutrition initiatives.

• Contribute to organization-wide Emergency Nutrition strategies, standards, tools, and best practices.

• Assist in the integration of gender, protection mainstreaming, and disaster risk reduction through cross-sectoral methodologies.

• Deliver both remote and on-site technical solutions to regional and Country Program teams.

• Aid in strategic planning and the application of standards for program design, implementation, partnership, monitoring, and evaluation.

• Prepare CRS for potential growth opportunities in Emergency Nutrition.

• Lead or assist in the technical design of large and/or complex proposals.

• Establish suitable monitoring systems and indicators.

• Provide guidance to project teams on aligning with donor strategies, priorities, and technical requirements.

• Enhance staff and partner capabilities by creating learning and training strategies, agendas, and curricula.

• Conduct training sessions and workshops while providing mentorship and coaching to Country Program staff.

• Facilitate knowledge management and learning through the collection and analysis of program data.

• Assess strategic projects, assist in measuring program impact, and document and disseminate lessons learned and best practices.

• Contribute to research efforts and prepare internal reports.

• Build and maintain relationships with donors, peer organizations, research institutions, and other relevant entities.

• Engage in Emergency Nutrition forums to gather and disseminate best practices while promoting CRS' initiatives.

• This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition, public health, or a health-related field is mandatory.

• At least eight years of relevant international work experience in an advisory or management capacity with increasing responsibilities.

• A minimum of three years of experience in nutrition program development and implementation in humanitarian, post-conflict, or low-resource environments.

• Prior experience in providing technical assistance and crafting successful proposals for external donor funding is essential.

• Proven application of technical principles and concepts related to Emergency Nutrition.

• General understanding of related fields for a cross-sectoral approach.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with web conferencing tools, information and budget management systems, and knowledge-sharing networks.

• Experience in business development, project design, proposal writing, and technical documentation in Emergency Nutrition.

• Background in mentoring, coaching, facilitation, and training using adult learning methodologies.

• Proficient in program monitoring and evaluation, data collection methods, data analysis, and data presentation.

• Experience in networking and managing relationships with donors, peer organizations, research institutions, and faith-based civil society partners.

• A strong understanding of partnership principles.

• Excellent strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Exceptional presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching capabilities.

• Fluency in English is required.

• Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Ability to legally work in the location where the position is based.

• Pre-employment medical clearance is required for positions necessitating residence or frequent travel outside the home country.

• A Master’s Degree in nutrition or a related field in clinical or public health is preferred and considered an advantage.
