Technical Accounting Senior Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conducts research and assesses the accounting implications of major new and one-time transactions.

• Develops and documents accounting positions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

• Prepares technical accounting memoranda and position papers.

• Keeps track of and evaluates updates to new and emerging accounting standards as well as SEC guidance.

• Maintains accounting policies.

• Leads the implementation of significant changes in accounting practices.

• Assists in the preparation and review of workpapers related to Form 10-Q and Form 10-K.

• Aids in EPS and stock-based compensation reporting.

• Manages and operates key SOX controls within designated areas.

• Collaborates with external auditors for walkthroughs and requests.

• Maintains comprehensive, audit-ready documentation.

• Acts as the technical accounting reviewer/approver for the creation and maintenance of the chart of accounts.

• Verifies account mappings and ensures alignment of financial statements.

• Partners with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, business units, Compensation, and Corporate Controller teams.

• Assesses accounting and reporting consequences of new transactions and strategic initiatives.

• Functions within a fast-paced financial close environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is REQUIRED.

• Active CPA is REQUIRED.

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience is REQUIRED.

• Significant experience in Big 4 Public Accounting is REQUIRED.

• Strong and current knowledge of U.S. GAAP is REQUIRED.

• Strong and current understanding of SEC reporting requirements is REQUIRED.

• Ability to research technical accounting issues is REQUIRED.

• Capable of preparing clear and well-supported technical accounting position papers and memos is REQUIRED.

• Technical accounting experience related to stock-based compensation is REQUIRED.

• Technical accounting experience with leases is REQUIRED.

• Technical accounting experience with revenue recognition is REQUIRED.

• Technical accounting experience with debt is REQUIRED.

• Technical accounting experience with business combinations is REQUIRED.

• Candidate must be located in Pacific or Mountain Time is REQUIRED.

• Technical accounting / National Office experience is PREFERRED.

• Experience in the Fintech industry is PREFERRED.

• Experience in the SaaS industry is PREFERRED.

• Familiarity with NetSuite and/or Oracle is PREFERRED.

• Experience with Workiva is PREFERRED.

• Advanced Excel skills are PREFERRED.
