Accounting Manager – US Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Examine client financial statements prior to delivery

• Assess balance sheet accounts for any discrepancies, unusual activities, and unsupported balances

• Recognize trends, inconsistencies, and accounting concerns that need follow-up

• Review bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, and relevant documentation

• Ensure that financial statements are accurate, comprehensive, and ready for clients

• Oversee the month-end close review process for bookkeeping clients

• Investigate any unusual or unexpected shifts in financial activities

• Report significant accounting problems to management as necessary

• Supervise, assist, and offer technical support to bookkeeping personnel

• Educate and mentor team members on accounting methodologies and quality benchmarks

• Act as the main accounting resource for the bookkeeping division

• Maintain and enhance quality control standards and review protocols

• Support cleanup and catch-up projects as required

• Initially manage around 10–15 clients, with production responsibilities reducing as the team expands

• Contribute to the development, documentation, and enhancement of accounting processes and best practices

• Report to the VP of Firm Operations

• Provide technical accounting oversight and quality assurance linking bookkeeping operations and ensuring final financials adhere to standards

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, CAS, outsourced accounting, or public accounting

• At least 2 years in a reviewing, supervisory, or leadership role in accounting

• Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO)

• Strong skills in reviewing financial statements and balance sheets

• Experience in reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules

• Capable of independently identifying accounting problems and discrepancies

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Outstanding attention to detail and precision

• Strong written communication skills

• Initial onboarding requires availability during U.S. Eastern Time hours

• Ongoing collaboration during Eastern Time business hours is necessary

• Preferred: Experience with U.S.-based clients

• Preferred: Experience in CAS, outsourced accounting, or public accounting

• Preferred: Experience managing multiple clients

• Preferred: Experience in enhancing accounting processes and internal controls

• Preferred: CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent certification

• Preferred: Experience in supporting or leading team growth
