Tech Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Guide Tech Leaders and Staff Engineers, promoting autonomy, decision-making, and technical excellence

• Facilitate feedback sessions, one-on-ones, development cycles, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs)

• Cultivate technical leaders and advocate for a high-performance, collaborative, and continuous-improvement culture

• Track and enhance engineering efficiency using WIP, Lead Time, Throughput, and CFD

• Set KPIs and transform data into actionable plans for productivity, predictability, and impact

• Ensure engineering processes are efficient and scalable

• Implement Agile practices to refine processes and drive improvements

• Promote the integration of AI and automation throughout the development lifecycle

• Convert strategic objectives into technical roadmaps, priorities, and measurable deliverables

• Align technical priorities with business goals, balancing product development, maintenance, support, risk, and technological innovation

• Assist in strategic decision-making and scope negotiations based on data and trade-offs

• Shape architectural decisions and establish technical standards, best practices, and guidelines

• Evaluate solutions, risks, technical debt, and modernization opportunities

• Foster collaboration across teams and enhance interoperability between systems

• Drive engineering modernization and the strategic integration of AI for analysis, implementation, review, testing, and maintenance

• Assess the productivity, quality, and efficiency improvements of new tools and workflows

• Conduct technical and behavioral interviews for engineering and leadership roles

• Develop and review technical challenges and selection criteria

• Aid in capacity planning and the evolution of the engineering organizational structure

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in software engineering management, overseeing multiple teams, Tech Leaders, and specialist professionals

• Proven track record in developing people and technical leaders, including structured feedback, one-on-ones, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), performance management, and succession planning

• Proficient in engineering metrics and flow management methodologies, such as Kanban, WIP, Lead Time, Throughput, and Cumulative Flow Diagram (CFD)

• Experience in defining and monitoring operational and business KPIs

• Capability to translate business strategies and product priorities into actionable technical roadmaps

• Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, integrations, scalability, observability, and engineering best practices

• Experience in defining and evolving technical standards, engineering processes, and governance practices

• Skilled in managing technical debt and prioritizing maintenance, support, and technological advancement initiatives

• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvements in development processes

• Familiarity with AI tools applied to software development

• Proven experience in recruiting and selecting engineering professionals, including conducting technical interviews

• Exceptional communication and influencing skills

• Preferred: experience in healthtech or mission-critical operations, high-growth technology companies, AI adoption, architectural modernization, budget and capacity management, technical communities, SRE, DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and incident management
