Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide ongoing feedback, and oversee the performance cycle of the team.

• Support the career development of each engineer by utilizing the career framework to facilitate growth and promotion discussions.

• Lead the recruitment and onboarding processes for new engineers, enhancing the team’s technical standards.

• Create a safe, inclusive, and high-performing environment; mediate conflicts and cultivate a healthy squad culture.

• Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery through effective sprint planning, capacity management, and progress monitoring.

• Eliminate obstacles and manage dependencies with other teams and functions.

• Transform the product roadmap, collaboratively defined with the Product Manager, into reliable execution.

• Maintain an appropriate balance between product delivery and investments in quality, reliability, and the reduction of technical debt.

• Lead incident management and post-mortems within the squad’s domain; ensure adequate on-call coverage, service level agreements, and documentation.

• Retain a sufficient level of technical expertise to thoroughly assess architectural decisions and assist Staff and senior engineers in those evaluations.

• Provide transparent updates on delivery status and risks to leadership and stakeholders.

• Ensure that engineering and company processes—such as calibration, training, and engagement surveys—are effectively implemented within the team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience as a Tech Lead or in formal engineering team leadership roles, encompassing people management, performance management, and career development.

• Strong technical background in software development, preferably in backend, with the capability to engage in architectural discussions and assess trade-offs—equivalent to a senior-level engineer.

• Proven experience leading agile teams to deliver with predictability and high quality.

• Familiarity with technical hiring processes and the development of engineers.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with proficiency in giving and receiving feedback directly and empathetically.

• Knowledge of microservices and cloud environments, particularly AWS, along with modern engineering methodologies such as CI/CD, observability, and on-call practices.

• Experience in fintech, payments, credit, or collections (a plus).

• Familiarity with serverless and event-driven architectures (a plus).

• Knowledge of TypeScript/NestJS, DynamoDB, and SQS/SNS; experience with Rust is a plus.

• Experience leading post-mortems and promoting a reliability culture based on Service Level Objectives (a plus).
