This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of a large-scale, accessible digital platform for a federal government client.
• Direct architecture and implementation strategies involving WordPress, Drupal, and Salesforce, including API design and integration efforts.
• Assist the team in upgrading legacy systems and transitioning platforms into modern, enterprise-grade, scalable solutions.
• Establish and uphold coding standards, evaluate architecture and code, and promote ongoing improvement of technical practices.
• Ensure that development and design activities comply with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 accessibility requirements.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps and infrastructure teams to ensure systems are secure, reliable, and thoroughly documented.
• Act as the technical liaison alongside the Project Manager, conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Cultivate relationships with client stakeholders, project sponsors, and cross-functional collaborators.
• Lead release planning and prioritization, guiding the scope, sequence, and trade-offs involved.
• Represent the team during client meetings, technical reviews, and planning sessions.
• Provide daily technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers.
• Steer the team through iterative delivery processes.
• Collaboratively develop the technical roadmap with the Project Manager.
• Enhance quality through code reviews, automated testing, and secure development methodologies.
• Identify and address technical risks, bottlenecks, and technical debt.
• A Bachelor's degree along with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in software development or technical leadership; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience leading or participating in contracts/projects of comparable size, scope, and complexity.
• Hands-on experience with migrating or consolidating content management platforms, particularly in WordPress and Drupal—covering theming, custom module/plugin development, and content architecture.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing, building, and integrating RESTful APIs across various systems and platforms.
• Experience in evaluating and integrating third-party plugins, extensions, and commercial solutions.
• Proven experience working within enterprise settings and enhancing or modernizing existing platforms.
• Strong familiarity with accessible development and design practices (Section 508, WCAG 2.1).
• A successful history of leading technical teams, with notable mentorship and team-building capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, with proven experience in presenting to and establishing relationships with clients and executive stakeholders.
• Previous experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust determination in support of a federal government contract.
