This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act as a leader within a software engineering team, participating in planning, scoping, estimating, and implementing technical solutions.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to improve software applications.
• Direct projects and make key architectural decisions while enhancing code for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable code independently using TypeScript, Java, C#, Python, or other relevant technology stacks.
• Participate in code reviews, identify and fix bugs, and optimize existing systems.
• Contribute throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle, from initial design to deployment.
• Support testing and quality assurance efforts to guarantee software reliability and optimal performance.
• Investigate emerging technologies, such as AI and machine learning, and propose innovative solutions to technical challenges.
• Utilize generative AI, agentic AI, AI-enabled tools, and intelligent automation to enhance development efficiency and code quality.
• At least 8+ years of relevant and related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 5-10%, for team summits, training, conferences, etc.
• Subject to company on-call policies, which may include working hours beyond the standard workday as required.
• Proficient in one or more programming languages (e.g., TypeScript, Java, C#, Python, or other relevant technology stacks).
• Proven experience leading complex coding projects with minimal oversight.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, or documentation.
• Ability to responsibly assess, implement, and govern AI solutions with a focus on security, performance, and maintainability.
• Understanding of software design principles, patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
• Experience with SQL and database technologies.
• Knowledge of OWASP threats and mitigation strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a demanding workload, deal with frequent interruptions, and work independently.
• Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic and changing environment.
• Enthusiasm for mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
• Familiarity with Kanban methodologies and associated tools.
• Understanding of the Education Technology sector.
