Tech Lead, Android Core Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of significant features and collaborate closely with the design team to deliver high-quality app functionalities.

• Influence the future direction of the Android team.

• Manage, maintain, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.

• Engage in discussions across Product, Design, and Engineering teams.

• Review pull requests and provide support to team members.

• Address critical issues and unforeseen challenges.

• Oversee feature releases and supply nightly builds for the QA team.

• Participate in multiple technical interviews aimed for completion within one week.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Knowledge of Android components.

• Experience in building or contributing to at least one Android application.

• A strong sense of product design and user empathy.

• Motivation to push the limits of Android UI/UX.

• Understanding the significance of testing and how to effectively write tests.

• Proactive in enhancing the app and codebase beyond the initial specifications.

• Solid expertise in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.

• Strong communication skills.

• A user-focused problem-solving mindset.

• Experience with open-source Android projects (a plus).

• Familiarity with iOS, Web, or NodeJS (a plus).
