Tech Lead, Android Core Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of significant in-app functionalities and work closely with the design team.

• Help to define the future direction of the Android team.

• Manage, sustain, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.

• Engage in cross-functional discussions alongside Product, Design, and Engineering teams.

• Review pull requests and provide support to colleagues.

• Address critical issues and unforeseen challenges effectively.

• Oversee feature releases and deliver nightly builds for Quality Assurance.

• Complete multiple technical interviews, targeted to be finished within one week.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Familiarity with Android components.

• Proven experience in building or contributing to at least one Android application.

• Strong intuition for product design and empathy for users.

• Motivation to push the limits of Android UI/UX.

• Knowledge of software testing and the ability to write tests.

• Self-motivation to enhance the app and codebase beyond initial specifications.

• Proficient in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.

• Outstanding communication skills.

• User-focused problem-solving mindset.

• Willingness to embrace continuous feedback.

• Experience with open-source Android projects is a plus.

• Familiarity with iOS, Web, or NodeJS is an added advantage.
