This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Lead and nurture a team of three product managers while also filling an open fourth position.
• Oversee the hiring process from defining the role to making the final hiring decision.
• Provide coaching on product practices, including discovery, prioritization, collaboration with engineering, and decision-making.
• Establish clear objectives, offer actionable feedback, and manage performance discussions.
• Advocate for the team and its priorities in relation to engineering, sales, support, and consulting.
• Champion initiatives and significant product investments in monitoring and observability.
• Navigate initiatives from the initial problem statement through to post-release adoption.
• Conduct user interviews, discovery sessions, competitive analysis, and hands-on product usage.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership on scope, sequencing, and release trade-offs.
• Integrate user, market, and internal data into annual strategic planning.
• Proven experience in leading product teams; formal line management experience is preferred, although a small team or strong mentoring history may suffice.
• Strong technical foundation in IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services, and containerization.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs).
• Demonstrated success as a product manager or product owner within an agile framework.
• Experience developing products aimed at technical users.
• Proven track record of evidence-based product decision-making and direct user engagement.
• Proficient in English.
• Proficiency in German is an advantage.
• At least one of the following: hands-on experience with monitoring or observability tools; prior experience as a system administrator, SRE, or systems engineer; or a strong ability to quickly learn new technologies and translate them into product decisions.
