This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a developing team of Underwriting Support Analysts.
• Manage the daily operations of the team, including workload allocation, priority setting, and performance evaluation.
• Conduct regular check-ins, offer constructive feedback, and assist team members in their insurance and professional growth.
• Facilitate recruitment, onboarding, training, and development initiatives for new team members.
• Oversee underwriting support throughout the submission lifecycle, which encompasses submission review, account clearance and setup, data entry, documentation, endorsements, renewals, and pre- and post-bind activities.
• Ensure that submission triage is consistent with underwriting appetite, guidelines, and delegated authorities.
• Verify that necessary information is collected from brokers and that underwriting files are comprehensive, accurate, and well-maintained.
• Collaborate with Underwriters and Operations teams to prioritize tasks, address issues, and sustain efficient workflows.
• Monitor work quality and precision, ensuring compliance with established procedures, requirements, and service standards.
• Identify opportunities to streamline, enhance, and scale underwriting support processes and workflows.
• Assist in the implementation and adoption of new processes, tools, and technologies.
• Provide input to Product, Technology, Operations, and other stakeholders regarding system and workflow enhancements.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture that emphasizes ownership, quality, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.
• Demonstrated experience in the insurance sector, particularly in underwriting support, underwriting operations, or a related field.
• Comprehensive understanding of underwriting support processes, including submission management, account clearance and setup, documentation, and pre- and post-bind activities.
• Familiarity with underwriting appetite, guidelines, delegated authorities, and basic underwriting data analysis.
• Previous experience in leading, managing, coaching, or developing team members.
• Experience in managing operational workloads, priorities, and deadlines within a process-oriented environment.
• Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record of building successful relationships with Underwriters, brokers, and various internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong customer service orientation and capability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands effectively.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a talent for driving initiatives and process enhancements.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, enabling successful interaction across diverse teams and functions.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Attention to detail, quality, and self-discipline.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace applications.
• Experience managing or supporting teams within an MGA, insurtech, carrier, or similar insurance setting.
• Previous experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
• Experience in developing, enhancing, or scaling underwriting support processes.
• Familiarity with modern underwriting systems, workflow tools, or insurance technology.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Affairs, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
