Team Leader – Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee, guide, and enhance a team of cloud network engineers, which includes performance management, scheduling, and career advancement.

• Allocate and prioritize project assignments, incident responses, and on-call schedules.

• Conduct individual meetings and performance evaluations.

• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process for new team members.

• Design and supervise the implementation of secure and scalable network architectures, primarily focusing on Azure.

• Manage hybrid connectivity solutions, including VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and SD-WAN.

• Take responsibility for network segmentation, routing, DNS, and firewall policy design within cloud environments.

• Ensure the cloud network infrastructure maintains high availability and performance.

• Lead incident response efforts and conduct root-cause analysis for network outages.

• Establish and monitor SLAs/SLOs for network performance and uptime.

• Propel the automation of network provisioning and configuration management.

• Champion the implementation of Elastic Observability.

• Collaborate with security teams to uphold network security best practices.

• Ensure adherence to SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS compliance as applicable.

• Assist with audits and the remediation of vulnerabilities related to network infrastructure.

• Work closely with Cloud, DevOps, Security, and application teams.

• Act as an escalation point for intricate network issues.

• Communicate network strategies, associated risks, and the roadmap to IT leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related domain.

• Extensive experience in designing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud and hybrid network environments.

• More than 2 years of experience in leading, supervising, or mentoring network engineering teams.

• Proven experience in performance management, prioritizing work, and technical development.

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, peering, routing, load balancing, network security groups, Azure Firewall, and DNS.

• Proficient in designing and managing hybrid cloud connectivity, including VPN, ExpressRoute, SD-WAN, and cloud-to-on-premises connectivity.

• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, network segmentation, VPNs, and load balancing.

• Experience with network security and zero-trust principles, including segmentation, encryption, firewall policies, identity-based access, and vulnerability remediation.

• Familiarity with network automation and infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.

• Experience in network monitoring and observability, including Elastic Observability, Azure Monitor, or similar platforms.

• Proven track record in leading incident response, troubleshooting complex network issues, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing remediation in high-availability environments.

• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Cloud, DevOps, Security, and application teams.

• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Background working in environments subject to SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
