This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Assist management in coordinating activities and operations within the Accounts Receivable department.
• Provide support and answer inquiries from global team members.
• Deliver initial training on the client host system to new users.
• Monitor the productivity and quality of Accounts Receivable Representatives.
• Conduct individual evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
• Follow up with payers to address outstanding claims through phone, email, fax, or websites.
• Maintain departmental standards for productivity and quality while supporting identified training needs.
• Utilize workflow, client host, and other systems to collect payments and resolve accounts.
• Comply with client and team policies and procedures.
• Initiate appeals and submit precise requests, supporting documentation, and communications.
• Analyze and resolve issues that lead to delays in payer payments.
• Study and identify trends in claims issues to proactively minimize denials.
• Detect and rectify medical billing errors.
• Safeguard and disclose patients’ PHI in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Adhere to Information Security and HIPAA policies, ensuring PHI access is limited to the minimum necessary.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in insurance collections, including the submission and follow-up of claims for a Medical Practice, Medical Facility/Medical Billing Company, Ambulatory Surgical Center, and/or Hospital.
• Prior experience in training new users is necessary.
• Knowledge of the denied claims and appeals process is essential.
• Understanding of the underpayments and credit balance process is required.
• Familiarity with practice management systems such as EPIC PB, Allscripts, and/or Cerner is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of individual payor websites, such as Navinet and Novitasphere.
• Proficient in Medical Terminology, including CPT Codes, Modifiers, and Diagnosis Codes.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with basic Excel skills required.
• Must have a smartphone or electronic device capable of downloading applications for multifactor authentication and security purposes.
