Teacher Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess and grade JLE assignments, which include Knowledge Checks, Midterms, Final Exams, and Extra Credit, within specified timeframes or deadlines.

• Offer clear and constructive feedback to students in accordance with established rubrics and grading guidelines.

• Maintain consistency and fairness throughout the grading process.

• Uphold student confidentiality and comply with academic integrity and AI-related policies.

• Engage in monthly meetings with JLE Administrators and Faculty to discuss grading issues, students-at-risk, or ambiguous submissions.

• Compile a year-end report that highlights overarching themes in student submissions, recurring questions or concerns, suggestions for curriculum modifications, and other pertinent data or feedback.

• Provide support to faculty, facilitators, and administrators of the Jewish Learning Experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Judaic studies or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Previous experience in grading or tutoring.

• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

• Proven strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms.

• Experience with Canvas by Instructure is preferred.

• Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
