This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee, guide, and mentor tax associates, senior tax professionals, and other assigned team members.
β’ Establish expectations regarding work quality, deadlines, documentation, communication, and accountability.
β’ Offer feedback, coaching, and support to recognize training needs and enhance performance.
β’ Collaborate with the Delivery & Operations Manager on staffing, performance issues, and operational necessities.
β’ Manage assigned tax projects from initiation and preparation through review, e-filing, delivery, and follow-up.
β’ Delegate work based on employee skills, current workload, complexity, and deadlines.
β’ Monitor project status, internal due dates, dependencies, pending client information, and overdue tasks.
β’ Identify workflow obstacles, redistribute tasks, and escalate deadline risks as needed.
β’ Supervise preparation and review processes for individual tax returns, primarily Form 1040, and business returns including Forms 1065, 1120S, and 1120.
β’ Keep track of extensions, estimated tax payments, missing documents, e-filing, and delivery requirements.
β’ Recognize technical issues necessitating review or escalation to a CPA Advisor, EA, or senior tax professional.
β’ Ensure adherence to tax preparation, review, documentation, and quality-control protocols.
β’ Monitor review comments and rework items while coordinating coaching or process enhancements.
β’ Organize workflow and supporting documentation for tax-planning and tax-resolution projects.
β’ Maintain records of cases, client documents, correspondence, deadlines, and follow-up actions.
β’ Adhere to and improve SOPs, checklists, workflow standards, and documentation practices.
β’ Observe workload, delivery progress, quality issues, and recurring bottlenecks.
β’ Utilize tax software, workflow platforms, dashboards, and automation tools to enhance productivity and control.
β’ Report on project status, team capacity, risks, and performance to the Delivery & Operations Manager.
β’ 5β8 years of pertinent U.S. tax experience.
β’ Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising, mentoring, or coordinating the efforts of a tax team.
β’ Practical understanding of U.S. individual and business taxation, including Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120S; familiarity with Form 1120 is advantageous.
β’ Experience in reviewing tax returns or managing review and rework processes.
β’ Capability to allocate work, track deadlines, manage workflow, and handle multiple projects concurrently.
β’ Strong skills in communication, organization, coaching, problem-solving, and escalation.
β’ Background in a tax practice, accounting firm, CPA firm, EA practice, or a similar professional-services environment.
β’ Proficient in using professional tax software and project/workflow management systems.
β’ Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, CA/CA Inter, or another relevant accounting/tax qualification is preferred but not required.
β’ Experience with Drake Tax or similar U.S. tax preparation software is favored.
β’ Experience in supporting offshore or distributed teams is preferred.
β’ Exposure to tax planning, tax resolution, or process automation is advantageous.
β’ Remote position.
