This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
β’ Review monthly state sales and use tax returns, tax payments, and other tax filings.
β’ Collect, analyze, and validate sales and use tax data to ensure compliance and fulfill reporting obligations.
β’ Prepare tax accounting entries associated with sales and use tax activities.
β’ Research, analyze, interpret, and apply sales and use tax laws to support tax filing positions.
β’ Oversee sales and use tax registrations, renewals, and account closures.
β’ Monitor sales and use tax accounts to guarantee ongoing compliance with relevant regulations.
β’ Assist in managing state sales and use tax audits by gathering supporting documentation, responding to information requests, and conducting related research and analysis.
β’ Address sales and use tax notices and liaise with state and local taxing authorities as required.
β’ Maintain the tax notice log and engage in regular reviews with tax team members to ensure timely resolution of notices and minimize assessments.
β’ Respond to inquiries related to sales and use tax and assist internal business groups with tax-related requests and documentation.
β’ Prepare and maintain resale and exemption certificates while ensuring records are accurately stored and managed within Vertex Series O.
β’ Provide support to the state income tax team by reviewing current and amended state income tax returns.
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or an equivalent educational background.
β’ A minimum of 4 years of experience in indirect tax, sales and use tax compliance, tax accounting, or public accounting.
β’ Preferred experience in supporting multi-state sales and use tax filings, tax audits, and tax reporting activities.
β’ Preferred experience in a multinational or shared services environment.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
β’ Experience with ERP and financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, or similar platforms.
β’ Preferred experience with indirect tax compliance and reporting systems such as Vertex, OneSource, Avalara, or similar tax applications.
β’ Ability to analyze large data sets, prepare reconciliations, and maintain precise tax records.
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
