This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate financial payroll data to assess employer tax liabilities and requirements for tax account registration.
• Ensure that employers are correctly registered for local, state withholding, and state unemployment taxes.
• Conduct daily tax reporting to compute and manage federal tax deposits across various states and waiver plans.
• Execute detailed tax reconciliations.
• Handle tax notices and respond to provider tax inquiries.
• Carry out tax account registrations, account maintenance, and disenrollments.
• Review and upload authorized documents to third-party tax representative accounts.
• Calculate, document, and verify tax files, as well as daily and quarterly federal tax deposits.
• Log and resolve tax notices, filing related documents as necessary.
• Prepare written communications and liaise with tax agencies to address registration issues.
• Undertake special projects to support the integrity of tax account data.
• Inform the Supervisor of changes in state portal processes.
• Manage multistate tax inboxes and respond to provider case requests.
• Review and assign tax voicemails through the internal CRM system.
• Maintain ongoing communication with local and state tax agency personnel.
• Participate in audits as required.
• Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in prioritizing and managing multiple streams of activity.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to adjust priorities as necessary.
• Ability to research tax registration laws and adapt PPL processes to evolving requirements.
• Competence to work both collaboratively in a team setting and independently with minimal oversight.
• Familiarity with accounting principles.
• Strong PC skills in spreadsheet and database applications.
• A college degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience is required.
• Over 2 years of experience in data entry or financial administration within a payroll environment.
