This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +1 more state.
• Oversee and manage U.S. and global tax compliance, accounting, reporting, and auditing functions.
• Supervise obligations related to income tax, sales and use tax, personal property tax, transfer pricing, and other indirect taxes.
• Prepare tax provisions, tax reporting packages, forecasts for legal entities, tax roll forwards, and reconciliations related to the general ledger for tax.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP, SOX, and Danaher policies.
• Drive the implementation, enhancement, and continuous management of sales and use tax reporting procedures.
• Lead initiatives for tax automation, integration of ERP and tax engines, evaluations of nexus, management of exemption certificates, and compliance with multi-state filings.
• Collaborate with teams in Accounting, Finance, IT, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Operations.
• Develop scalable tax processes, reinforce internal controls, enhance reporting accuracy, and support business initiatives through tax planning and risk management.
• Spearhead tax process improvement projects using the Danaher Business System.
• Assist in federal, state, local, and international tax audits.
• Maintain documentation, procedures, and controls to ensure sustainable compliance and operational excellence.
• Report to the Director of Accounting as part of the Global Controllership Organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related discipline.
• Preferably 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or a combination of both.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations, including compliance for income tax, sales and use tax, tax accounting, and GAAP reporting.
• Proven experience in leading or assisting with sales and use tax reporting, indirect tax compliance, tax technology implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
• Proficient in ERP and financial systems, such as SAP or comparable platforms.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of SOX compliance, internal controls, project management, and cross-functional collaboration within a complex business setting.
• CPA certification and experience in a multinational corporate tax environment are advantageous.
• Familiarity with tax automation and reporting tools, such as Vertex, Avalara, OneSource, or similar sales and use tax solutions, is a plus.
• Demonstrated success in leading tax process improvements, ERP implementations, or indirect tax transformation projects within a complex organization is preferred.
